Shetland Islands

Shetland is made up of more than 100 islands, 200 kms off the north coast of Scotland. It's closer to Norway than Scotland and belonged to them until the 1460's. With a land area of 567 square miles, enclosed by a coastland of 900 miles, nowhere is more than 3 miles from the sea. Therefore it comes as no surprise that seabird colonies dominate the wildlife.
