Vince Burton Photography

Welcome

I have created this website to showcase my passion for photography and in particular for wildlife.

From childhood, I have always had a strong fascination with nature. When I was given my first camera, it was no surprise that I focussed it on wildlife. I wanted to capture the beauty in nature and to travel the world.

In Borneo I spent time with one of our closest relations, the Orangutan and learnt of the threat to its survival as palm oil plantations replace its forest home.

Staying in tents in the Masai Mara I was on hand to witness some amazing wildlife events. Just like the 'Big Cat Diary', I observed the behaviour of several families and individuals. It was such a privilege to spend time with them and share a part of their lives.

Lately my adventures have taken me to Alaska, the great wilderness, where I camped out and photographed Brown Bears during the Salmon run.

Having witnessed this, and so much more, I have seen how our desire for wealth and resources is forcing nature into ever smaller pockets of natural environments, or 'nature reserves', to survive in. This has led me towards wanting to use my imagery to help educate and inspire people, to preserve the amazing natural world that we are so rapidly destroying.

Thank you for visiting.
